Sports Visit
As an athlete, it can be very easy to get badly injured or pull a muscle. This not only impacts your health but also your career. Therefore, getting a sports physical exam should be a top priority for such athletic individuals. The physician checks if you’re fit enough to participate in a certain sport.
Expect the physician to ask the following question:
- If you have any serious illnesses.
- Difficulty in breathing
- Allergies
- Had any previous surgeries been done.
- If you can easily get dizzy, nauseated, or have chest pain during any physical activity.
- If you have had your muscles pulled previously.
- If you have diabetes, epilepsy, tumors, or asthma.
- Any medications that you might be on.
After the doctor notes down your medical history, it’s time to perform a physical exam to check whether you’re fit for sports or not. It includes:
- Measuring your weight and height.
- Performing a vision test.
- Checking the blood pressure and heart rate.
- Examining your lungs and heart.
- Checking the throat, ears, and nose.
- Checking your body posture and evaluating joints and flexibility.
If you visit your doctor regularly for a sports check up, discuss your dietary habits along with sleeping patterns to maintain the best health possible.
