Sick Visits
We use this term when a sick child needs a doctor’s consultation. Sick visits involve a pediatrician examining your child’s health and growth. These visits take about 15 to 30 minutes. The doctor will check your child’s symptoms, suggest medications, make a proper treatment plan and inform you of risks if there are any. The doctor also asks a series of questions from both the parents and the child.
These questions include:
- When did the symptoms first appear?
- If the child is in pain.
- The child's and the parent's medical histories
- Change in environment
- Change in diet
- Other related questions that would help figure out the illness.
Some parents might not know when it's the right time to call a doctor. Schedule an appointment if your child is suffering from:
- High fever in toddlers
- Vomiting, headache, rashes
- Diarrhea
- Unusual symptoms that stay for more than 3 days in a row
- Stomach ache
- Earache
- Fever and rashes with breathing difficulty.
- Chickenpox
